Mounting Design
The goal of manta was to have a few good mounting styles that allow users to customize the feel and sound without being overwhelmed with options. Each option is distinct and has a unique feel or sound that differentiates it from the other options. All options are optimized to ensure each one is noticeably different while still maintaining our high expectations for feel and sound. The three options are gasket sock, gasket grommet, and gummy oring.

Change Log/Project Updates
We had received prototypes of the Manta in April and thoroughly tested the mounting styles, part tolerances, inspected machining and any interferences. We are happy to annunce the prototype units were a huge success and we need virtually no changes in the board construction for the final units. We concluded the following items were going to be added and adressed for the production run.
- ‘Force break’ pads along the inside weight / fin of the board. We had noticed some mico vibrations from complex weight when being screwed into the board and instead of just screwing it down more, small foam gasket helped with eliminating this issue. These will be installed from the factory.
- Optional foam gaskets will be given to users to install along the angled screws. There needs to be roughly a 0.1mm gap for tolerance reasons between the bottom and top frame. This gap can cause some unwanted frequencies. We found adding some foam that can compress in this gap solves this issue, but we heard feedback that people wanted this to be optional. This will just be added in the production run on a foam sheet.
- Internal ridges on the bottom case. This will be the only part of the case to have a very small machining change as we noticed screw in stabs specifically with washers installed and with a plastic or softer plate had some contact on the right enter key with the ridges. We will add a small cut on these ridges to compensate for this.
