Pangea Fullsize Build Guide
Step 1:
Confirm package contents:
Ensure all order items are included such as plates, pcbs and top frames. Also ensure that 30A (white), 60A (light gray) and 90A (dark gray) grommets are included as well as feet. If any items are missing reach out to the vendor you purchased it from.
Step 2:
Inspect the keyboard:
Look over board for any damage that could have happened during shipping. If there are any issues be sure to reach out to your vendor as soon as possible.
Step 3:
Test the PCB:
Test the PCB using VIA and the JSON file found on the Resource Files page. Use PNG-S for solder and PNG-H for hotswap. If you ever need to flash the PCB, open QMK toolbox, load the .bin file, hold the reset switch for 3 seconds then click flash. In addition to testing the PCB using tweezers you can remove the excess FR4. When separating it is best practice to remove the ribbon cable connecting the main PCB and numpad PCB to prevent damage.
Step 4:
Build plate/PCB assembly:
Select the orientation you will use for the numpad and if using hotswap use the respective PCB, if using solder ensure you place the switches in the correct locations. After installing switches you can attach the PCBs together using the ribbon cable.
Step 5:
Seperate top and bottom case:
Remove 8x case screws using hex M1.5 screwdriver and remove top case.
Step 7:
If using standard numpad, install build:
OR
If using southpaw, Skip to step 8:
Plug in JST cable to main PCB and install gaskets onto the plate. The large side of the gasket goes down. Use the alignment locations in the case to place the 2 assemblies into the case. Proceed to Step 11.
Step 8:
Switching to southpaw:
Remove 8 screws using hex M1.5 screwdriver and separate top frame, TKL frame and numpad frame.
Step 9:
Reassemble top case:
Place numpad and TKL frame back into the top case, swapping their locations from the normal orientation. Rotate 180 degrees and replace top frame. Replace 8 screws to secure frames into top case.
Step 10:
Changing PCB orientation:
Remove Ribbon cable and swap PCB locations. Replace ribbon cable into previously unoccupied ribbon cable connector. Place assemblies back into case.
Step 11:
Finish assembly:
Replace top case onto bottom case and install 8x screws using hex M1.5 driver.
